2027 Presidency: APC Governors Throw Weight Behind Tinubu

The Progressive Governors Forum has formally endorsed President Bola Ahmed tinubu as the sole candidate of the All Progressives Congress APC for the 2027 presidential election.

The endorsement was announced during the ongoing APC National Summit, currently being held at the Banquet Hall of the State House in Abuja.

Imo State Governor and Chairman of the Forum, Hope Uzodimma, moved the motion for endorsement, which was seconded by Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani. The move signals a unified front among APC governors, strongly backing Tinubu’s bid for a second term.

Speaking on behalf of the forum, Uzodimma reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to mobilizing political and material resources to secure victory for the President in their respective states. He noted their confidence in Tinubu’s leadership, citing ongoing reforms and developmental strides.

The endorsement comes on the heels of a vote of confidence passed by North Central APC governors, who recently lauded tinubu for his inclusive governance style and infrastructural achievements.

With this declaration, the Progressive Governors Forum has further cemented Tinubu’s position as the APC’s presumptive flagbearer for the 2027 general election.

This show of support emerges amid realignments in the opposition, with key figures such as former PDP presidential aspirant Atiku Abubakar and former Kaduna State Governor Mallam Nasir El Rufai reportedly aligning with the African Democratic Congress ADC.
