‘One Man Show In Abia State’, Abia State APC Chairman Carpets Abia Government.

At the instance of the Member representing Bende Federal Constituency in the 10th House of Representatives and Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, more than twenty thousand persons from different walks of life gathered at the playground of Bende Local Government Council Headquarters in Abia-North Senatorial District yesterday, Sunday (Nkwo) 1st of June, 2025, to participate in the induction of Members of Renewed Hope Partners.

Renewed Hope Partners is a formidable Support Group of Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, doing massive sensitisation on the achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the South-East, and subsequently canvassing for support for Mr President. It is spareheaded and funded by the Deputy Speaker of the 10th House of Representatives, The Rt Hon Benjamin Okezie Kalu, CON.

The task embarked upon by Rt Hon Ben Kalu is definitely not an easy one, taking into consideration that his home State of Abia is controlled by an anti-APC Government that was elected on the platform of Labour Party that is now torn into shreds and leaving the leaders of the Party in the State making desperate attempts to enter into a coalition with political actors that have vainly vowed to, not just vote out President Bola AhmedTinubu in 2027, but ‘remove’ him, as evidenced in their subtle timid appearances at the 60th birthday of a former Governor of Rivers State, Rt Hon Chibuike Amaechi, at Abuja on Saturday (Afor) 31st May, 2025.

However, the wave vibrating from Rt Hon Benjamin Kalu’s systematic advocacies and interventions has already become a source of major concern to the worn out disorganized Labour Party leadership in the State.

This is because a Government that believes that the best and cheapest way to keep the electorate, especially the political class suppressed, as not to be capable of posing any electoral threat to it, is to weaponise poverty and freeze liquidity, has uncomfortably suddenly realized that the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives has the guts to sensitize, mobilise and take adequate care of more than Twenty Thousand Persons in a stretch.

At yesterday’s Induction Ceremony of Renewed Hope Partners, the State Chairman of All Progressives Congress, APC, in Abia State, Dr Kingsley Ononogbu, who eulogized President Tinubu for his sense of direction, condemned in the strongest term the way Abia State Government has been turned into a ‘One Man Show’.

Dr Ononogbu frowned at lack of Transparency and Accountability in running the affairs of the State Government. As he put it, a situation where one person acts as ‘Chief Executive, Chief Accountant, and Auditor, with massive propaganda’ can not be in the overall interest of the People of Abia State.

The deliberate but insulting violation of the Grudnorm of Nigeria, the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as amended, to the very unhealthy extent of running the affairs of Abia State Government in a private residence far away from Umuahia, and repulsively boasting to convert Abia State Government House to a 5-Star Hotel sounded crude, indecent, primitive and, of course, disgustingly unacceptable to Dr Kingsley Ononogbu. It is clear to the very good People of Umuahia that Umuahia has ceased, by the insulting machinations of the Abia State Government, to be Capital of Abia State. What an insult?

From every indication, the All Progressives Congress in Abia State will put up a performance that no Party that impoverishes the masses, using poverty and hunger as instruments of suppression, and hanging its hope on the strength of propaganda, will be able to withstand it in 2027. The coast is becoming clear, and will be clearer soonest.
