Governor Otti’s proactive ecological agenda gives hope to affected residents

 

The people of Umuenyere Alayi in Bende Local Government Area have received a major reassurance following the devastating gully erosion that recently cut off the vital road linking Ozara Market with Okoko Item.

 

The intervention pledge came from the Abuja Chief Liaison and National Assembly Liaison Officer, Hon. Iheanyi Frank Chinasa, who described the incident as a serious ecological disaster that has not only disrupted movement but also crippled the economic activities of locals who depend on the route for their daily businesses.

 

Chinasa, an illustrious son of Bende, sympathized deeply with residents, stressing that Governor Alex Otti’s administration is fully committed to addressing erosion and other ecological challenges across Abia State. He reassured the people that the Governor, in collaboration with relevant federal and state agencies, is already mapping out decisive measures to permanently tackle the gully erosion and restore normalcy in the area.

 

Highlighting Otti’s track record, Hon. Chinasa cited the successfully completed Ovom erosion control project and the ongoing collaboration with NEWMAP at Uzuakoli as proof of the Governor’s determination to protect communities from ecological threats.

 

“Governor Otti’s government has made ecological restoration a priority. Umuenyere will not be abandoned. Relief is coming soon,” Chinasa assured.

 

The reassurance has sparked hope among the people of Umuenyere, who have endured the harsh consequences of the gully erosion, including transportation setbacks, dwindling businesses, and disrupted access to markets.

 

Chinasa further urged the affected communities to remain patient, promising that the government’s intervention would not only restore the damaged road but also provide long-term ecological solutions to prevent future occurrences.

 

Residents, while expressing optimism, said they are eagerly waiting for the intervention to materialize, noting that the road remains their lifeline to commercial activities and connectivity in the area.

 

With this assurance, Umuenyere joins the growing list of communities across Abia State that are looking forward to Governor Otti’s proactive measures in combating ecological disasters and delivering lasting development.
