The Honourable Member representing Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency Honorable Amobi Godwin Ogah has extended warm birthday felicitations to former Chief of Army Staff, Azubuike Ihejirika, describing him as a distinguished son of Abia State whose service to Nigeria remains a reference point in military leadership.
In a goodwill message released to mark the occasion, the federal lawmaker praised Lt. Gen. Ihejirika (Rtd) for his patriotism, discipline, and commitment to strengthening the Nigerian Army during his tenure as Chief of Army Staff from 2010 to 2014.
The lawmaker noted that during his time as Army Chief, Ihejirika oversaw critical operational reforms and capacity-building initiatives within the Nigerian Army at a time of heightened security challenges in the country.
The representative described his tenure as one that demonstrated courage under pressure and unwavering loyalty to the Nigerian state.
According to the statement, as Abia State celebrates one of its finest sons, the people of Isuikwuato and Umunneochi are particularly proud to identify with the retired General.

The lawmaker emphasized that Lt. Gen. Ihejirika’s achievements continue to inspire young people across the constituency, especially those aspiring to serve in the armed forces and other national institutions.
“Today, Abia State celebrates a statesman and soldier. In Isuikwuato and Umunneochi, we celebrate our son, a man whose name is etched in the history of Nigeria’s military service,” the statement read.
On behalf of the good people of Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency, the lawmaker wished the former Army Chief sound health, divine protection, and many more impactful years ahead.
