ABIA FIRST LADY CHAMPIONS AGRICULTURAL EMPOWERMENT FOR YOUTHS, HAILS SENATOR OLUREMI TINUBU’S VISIONARY LEADERSHIP

Umuahia, Abia State – It was a vibrant and inspiring atmosphere yesterday in Umuahia as the wife of the Abia State Governor, Mrs. Priscilla Otti, delivered a passionate speech during the training and empowerment ceremony for beneficiaries of the Youth Agricultural Support Programme.
In a stirring address that resonated with both hope and action, Mrs. Otti emphasized the pivotal role of agriculture in daily life—highlighting its influence on everything from the food we eat to the clothes we wear. “Agriculture is not just a profession, it is the backbone of our economy,” she affirmed, drawing applause from the enthusiastic audience.
The event, which forms part of the Renewed Hope Initiative spearheaded by Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, saw the distribution of starter packs to young Abians, all of whom had undergone extensive training in modern and sustainable agricultural practices.
These included organic fertilizer production, animal feed formulation, pest management, and the proper use of personal protective equipment.
Mrs. Otti, represented at the event by the wife of the Deputy Governor, Mrs. Adaeze Emetu, expressed deep gratitude to Senator Oluremi Tinubu for her visionary leadership and for championing such a life-transforming initiative.
She revealed that the programme had reached the grassroots across all three senatorial districts of Abia State, empowering women and youths with practical knowledge and skills to become self-reliant and productive contributors to the economy.
“This initiative is not just about agriculture—it is about the future of our youths, the empowerment of women, and the sustainability of our communities,” she said.
Also speaking at the event, the State Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr. Cliff Agbaeze, charged the newly trained beneficiaries to make the state proud by putting their knowledge into practice and becoming ambassadors of agricultural transformation in Abia.
In a heartfelt vote of thanks on behalf of the beneficiaries, Amarachi Chikezie praised both the First Lady of the Nation and the First Lady of Abia State for their commitment to youth development. She pledged that they would apply all the skills acquired during the training to make meaningful contributions to their communities.
The event stands as a strong testament to what can be achieved when visionary leadership meets youth empowerment and agricultural innovation. With the Renewed Hope Initiative blazing a trail, Abia State is sowing the seeds of a prosperous and sustainable future.
