Abia Govt Hails Archbishop Onuoha’s Icons Show for Youth Empowerment

The Special Adviser to the Abia State Governor on Policies and Interventions, Rev. Fr. Christian Anokwuru, has applauded the President of Vision Africa Radio, Umuahia, Archbishop Sunday Onuoha, for his commitment to youth development through the Icons Reality Show and other humanitarian initiatives.

Rev. Fr. Anokwuru, who gave the commendation at the grand finale of the 2025 Vision Africa Radio Icons Reality Show (Season 12), held at the Jubilee Auditorium, Mater Dei Cathedral, Umuahia, praised Archbishop Onuoha for sustaining the annual talent-discovery platform. He noted that the show continues to help young talents harness and showcase their potential in the music industry.

He expressed confidence that both the finalists and other participants will soon make their mark on the national stage, commending them for their courage and determination.

In his remarks, Archbishop Sunday Onuoha said the Icons Reality Show was conceived to raise a new generation of gospel musicians who will take over from renowned artists in the future. He congratulated the winner, Mr. Anthony Uchenna Shadrach, for emerging champion, and encouraged other contestants to continue improving themselves.

Also speaking, the Lead Judge and gospel artist, Mr. Buchi Atuonu, applauded Archbishop Onuoha for the initiative, stressing that the platform has consistently offered opportunities for budding artists to shine. He announced that the top three contestants will receive free studio recording sessions.

Responding on behalf of the participants, the winner, Mr. Anthony Uchenna Shadrach, expressed gratitude to Archbishop Onuoha and Vision Africa Radio for the opportunity to showcase his talent, promising to remain committed to his craft.

Shadrach received a cash prize of ₦1,000,000, while the first runner-up, Udofia Edeth, received ₦700,000. The second runner-up, Chinyere Stephen, went home with ₦500,000.

The event attracted dignitaries from various sectors and was marked by electrifying performances and enthusiastic support from the audience.
