Abia Govt suspends ASCETA Provost

The Provost, Abia State College of Education, Technical, Arochukwu, (ASCETA), Professor Vincent Onwe, appointed by Governor Alex Otti in the early days of his administration has been suspended by the State Government.

Sources told Hanto Daily News that the release which was unusually endorsed by the Attorney General and commissioner for Justice, Ikechuckwu Uwanna, also announced the appointment of Dr Abdulkarim Jibril, the current Deputy Provost as the acting Provost.

According to the release, the suspension order approved by Governor Alex Otti is part of ongoing efforts to ensure transparency, accountability, and the smooth administration of the institution.

The release directs, Dr Abdulakarim Jibril to assume responsibilities immediately and oversee the day-to-day operations of the college pending further annoucements.

It further urges all staff, students, and stakeholders of the institution to give their full cooperation and support to the acting Provost as he carries out his duties.
