Abia State, Turkish Partners To Host Investment Summit In November 2025
Abia State Government through the Ministry of Trade and Investment has announced plans to host a three day International Investment Summit and Exhibition in partnership with VEGA Growing Global Enterprises.
The event, which is expected to attract investors from within and outside Nigeria, particularly from Turkey, is scheduled to hold from November 25 to 27, 2025 at the International Conference Centre, Umuahia.
Briefing Journalists at Government House Umuahia on Tuesday, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Investment Promotion and Public-Private Partnerships (PPP), High Chief Green Amakwe, described the summit as a Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) exposition designed to showcase Abia State’s economic potential to the world.
“This event is an FDI exposition for international and local investors to explore the possibilities of Abia State and the many advantages it has as a preferred investment destination in Nigeria and Africa”, Chief Green-Amakwe said.
He said that the three-day summit will bring together key stakeholders from Government, the Private Sector, and International partners, with a special focus on fostering collaboration between Abia State and Türkiye’s business community.
According to Chief Amakwe, the summit aims to promote international trade, export-oriented investments, and drive growth in key sectors such as agriculture, agro-allied industries, textiles, shoe and leather production, energy, solid minerals, warehousing, and infrastructure.
He further outlined the major objectives of the Summit to include identifying areas of cooperation and forge partnerships and joint venture projects between Abia State and the investment communities in Turkiye, promoting international trade and investment across various sectors in Abia State,facilitating joint venture projects between Abia State and Turkish investors as well as Strengthening the existing diplomatic and business ties between Nigeria and Turkey.
“The Summit aims to identify areas of cooperation and forge partnerships and joint venture projects between Abia state and some states in Nigeria and the investment communities in Turkiye.
“Build on the existing outstanding diplomatic relations and positive public perception of Turkiye businesses and products among Nigerians and Abia state to promote targeted business exchange between Abia state and the Turkish business and investment communities.
“Reinforce the national trust in positioning Abia State as the preferred destination for foreign direct investments and international trade in Nigeria”, Chief Amankwe stated.
He emphasized that the administration of Governor Alex Otti remains committed to creating a favorable investment climate that encourages innovation, job creation, and sustainable development.
