Nigeria Plans 6  FIFA-Approved Stadiums

Nigeria is working to upgrade its sports infrastructure by building at least six  FIFA-approved stadiums across the country.

According to reports, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s wants to enhance sports and improve facilities for national and international events.

Currently, the country struggles with maintaining stadiums that meet FIFA standards. Most of Nigeria’s sports facilities have fallen into disrepair, making it difficult to host international matches and tournaments. As a result, the National Sports Commission, led by Mallam Shehu Dikko, has prioritized renovating and maintaining these critical infrastructures.

Dikko explained that the new strategy focuses on significantly improving Nigeria’s stadiums.
