UCL: How PSG, Liverpool players reacted to 2-0 result
Some Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool players have reacted to both sides’ UEFA Champions League quarter-final first-leg tie on Wednesday.
PSG defeated Liverpool 2-0 in Paris, following goals from Désiré Doué and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
The Parisians will now clash with the Premier League giants in the return leg next week at Anfield.
Reacting after the encounter, Kvaratskhelia told Canal+: “We had the chances to score more, and we should have. We produced a good performance. We have to remain concentrated – the atmosphere at Anfield will be incredible. We’re ready.”
Similarly, PSG midfielder, Warren Zaïre-Emery, also told Canal+: “We could have scored more. It’s a shame, but it’s 2-0, and that is already a great result, but it’s not over. We’ll go there with the same intentions and try to win the game.”
On his part, Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk told TNT Sports: “It was tough work, which was what we expected. We defended with a lot of bodies around the box. Unfortunately, the first goal is a deflection. Obviously, I am not happy losing at all. The only positive is that we have another game to play next week.”
