The St Andrews Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, Umuobia,Umuahia, has honoured a worthy member of the Church, Mr. Uka Oji, with an award of “Pillar of Support” in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the development and growth of the Church.

The award was part of this year’s celebrations of Men’s Day, during which some worthy fathers and members of the Church were honoured in appreciation of their great efforts and roles in the St Andrews Presbyterian in particular and the body of Christ in general.

Responding, one of the awardees, Mr Uka Oji, who was represented by his wife, Mrs. Uka Oji thanked the Church for honouring him with the award, which he said came to him as a surprise and worthy of celebration.

He appreciated the Church for the great impact they have made in his life, stating that they contributed to building him up and who he is today.
Mr. Oji assured that he would continue to offer his contributions and services in the vineyard.

Earlier in his sermon to celebrate Men’s Day, a lay preacher, Bro Okoro Nlenya, said that men should always make themselves available in the service of God.
Bro Nlenya, who spoke on the topic ” Men vessel of Honour,” said that the Bible has many accounts of men who offered themselves as vessels of honour and served God diligently with their time and resources and were richly blessed.
