Abia 2027: Labour Party Stakeholder Ike Ibe Rallies Support for Otti’s Second Term
A prominent stakeholder of the Labour Party in Abia State, Chief Ike Enyioma Ibe, has called for unity and sustained support for the Governor Alex Otti led administration.
Chief Ibe made the call at his country home in Amankwo Uzuakoli, Bende Local Government Area, on Tuesday when he played host to prominent Labour party stakeholder, Dr Chima Anyaso.
The visit coincided with celebrations over the Appeal Court verdict which affirmed the Nenadi Usman-led leadership of the party over the Julius Abure faction.
Addressing supporters and party members during the meeting, Chief Ibe urged stakeholders to close ranks and consolidate on the developmental strides of the current administration in the state.
He stressed the importance of collective commitment towards Governor Otti’s re-election bid in 2027, noting that the governor has “performed creditably well” within his first 35 months in office.
Chief Ibe who highlighted what he described as tangible achievements recorded by the Otti led administration, cautioned against actions that could derail ongoing progress.
He said Abians should not allow themselves to be used “as clogs in the wheel of progress by truncating his outstanding record of success so far”.
The Labour Party chieftain further expressed optimism about the future trajectory of the state under under the present administration, and insised that continuity would yield long-term benefits.
According to him, “if given a second term, Dr Otti would not only complete his well deserved second term but also leave a solid foundation and lasting legacy of good governance in Abia for posterity to come”.
Earlier, Dr Chima Anyaso, an aspirant for the Bende Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives, said his visit formed part of ongoing consultations with key stakeholders of the party.
He commended Chief Ibe’s role within the Labour party, describing him as “a trusted and reliable party man and staunch supporter of Dr Alex Otti’s administration in the State”.
Anyaso described the appeal court verdict as victory for democracy noting that it solidifies their faith in the Labour Party leadership structure.
