Abia Police Assure Tight Security, Extend Eid-el-Kabir Greetings to Muslims
The Abia State Police Command has extended warm greetings to Muslim faithful across the state as they prepare to celebrate this year’s Eid-el-Kabir, while assuring residents and visitors of adequate security throughout the festive period.
In a statement issued on Tuesday in Umuahia, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Maureen Chioma Chinaka, said the Command had intensified and strategically coordinated its operational deployments across Abia to guarantee a peaceful and hitch-free celebration.
According to the statement, security personnel have been adequately mobilised and stationed at key locations, including prayer grounds, recreational centres, major highways and other public places across the state.
The Command noted that the proactive deployments are aimed at preventing crime, ensuring rapid response to emergencies and maintaining law and order before, during and after the celebration.
It further stated that intelligence-led surveillance and monitoring of public gatherings would also be sustained to ensure maximum security and peaceful observance of the Eid festivities.
The Police Command urged Muslim faithful and members of the public to remain vigilant and security-conscious, and to promptly report suspicious persons or activities to the nearest police station or through the Command’s emergency hotlines: 08035415405, 08079210004, 08079210005 and 08079210006.
