Abia Police Command Strengthens Security Partnership as 14 Brigade Commander Pays Familiarization Visit
The Abia State Police Command on Tuesday reaffirmed its commitment to inter-agency collaboration as the Commander of the 14 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Brigadier General A.M. Dikko, paid a familiarization visit to the Command Headquarters in Umuahia.
Brigadier General Dikko, accompanied by his entourage, was warmly received by the Commissioner of Police, Abia State Command, CP Danladi Isa, alongside members of the Command’s management team.
Speaking during the visit, the Brigade Commander stated that the meeting was aimed at acquainting him with the operations of the Police Command and strengthening the existing collaboration between the Nigerian Army and the Police in the state.
Brigadier General Dikko commended the Abia State Police Command for its efforts in maintaining law and order and sustaining the relative peace currently enjoyed in the state.
He urged the Command to maintain the momentum and assured them of his readiness to foster a smooth and productive working relationship between the Army and the Police.
“The tempo of operations should be sustained,” the Brigade Commander advised, expressing confidence in continued synergy between the two security agencies.
In his remarks, CP Danladi Isa described the Nigerian Army as a principal partner in the fight against crime and criminality in Abia State. He characterized the relationship between the two agencies as cordial and commendable, emphasizing that there is no rivalry, as their roles are clearly defined by the Constitution.
“There is no competition between us. The Constitution has explicitly provided for our respective duties. What we share is a common goal — the safety and security of the people,” the Commissioner stated.
CP Isa further reiterated the importance of sustained synergy among security agencies, noting that effective collaboration remains key to guaranteeing peace, safety, and stability across the state.
Both leaders also discussed other areas of collaboration and joint operations, reaffirming their shared commitment to professionalism and coordinated security efforts.
The visit underscores ongoing efforts by security agencies in Abia State to deepen cooperation and enhance collective strategies aimed at combating crime and ensuring public safety.
