The launch of All Women for Good Leadership Initiative in Abia State on Friday 25th July 2025 marked the beginning of a new chapter for women’s empowerment, ethical leadership, and transformative governance.

 

The event, held with great enthusiasm, was led by the convener and president, Mrs. Ifeoma Nwachukwu, who addressed a gathering of distinguished guests, including Hon. Dr. Maureen Aghukwa, Abia State Commissioner for Women Affairs, and Prof. Chioma Nwakamma, Head of Department of Environmental Management and Toxicology at Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike.

 

In her passionate inaugural speech, Mrs. Nwachukwu declared the launch of the initiative as “more than a response to gender inequality,” calling it “a bold declaration that women belong at the table.”

 

“Leadership is about impact, not position; transformation, not titles,” she said to a thunderous applause from attendees.

 

She emphasized that the All Women for Good Leadership Initiative is a movement driven by integrity, empathy, resilience, and vision—qualities she said the world needs now more than ever. The initiative, she noted, was conceived to answer the pressing question: How can women sustain top positions when given the opportunity?

 

According to her, the answer lies in “leadership education,” which the organisation plans to drive through structured mentorship, leadership training, empowerment programs, and annual ambassadorial awards to honour good governance.

 

Mrs. Nwachukwu revealed that the organization has received recognition and certification from the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), further strengthening its legitimacy and commitment to expanding its reach beyond Abia State.

 

Core Objectives

The initiative is founded on the following key pillars:

 

• Empowering women for leadership roles
• Promoting principles of good governance
• Increasing women’s representation in decision-making positions
• Advocating for the rights and education of the girl child

 

She explained that members of the initiative will benefit from leadership mentoring, access to training, resource support, and networking with like-minded leaders.

 

“Our goal is not just to raise voices, but to raise standards,” the president emphasized.

 

Awards and Recognition

 

As part of its commitment to encouraging excellence in governance, Mrs. Nwachukwu stated that All Women for Good Leadership Initiative will recognize and reward individuals—both men and women—who exemplify integrity and good leadership annually.

 

The launch event was described by attendees as timely and transformational, with stakeholders pledging their support to amplify the voices of women in leadership across Abia and beyond.

 

With strong foundations and a powerful message, the Good Leadership Initiative is poised to become a defining force in reshaping governance culture in Nigeria—starting from the grassroots.
