Amupitan, INEC Commissioners Must Resign Now – ADC Demands

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has called for the immediate resignation of Professor Joash Amupitan as the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), following his alleged display of partisanship.

Speaking on Thursday during a world press conference in Abuja, the National Chairman of the ADC, Senator David Mark, also called for the resignation of all INEC National Commissioners, saying that the leadership of the Commission have made itself a tool in the hands of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The demand from ADC follows the decision from INEC to remove the names of David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola from its official portal as National Chairman and National Secretary of the party, respectively.

The gathering witnessed top echelon and stakeholders of the party including Secretary of ADC, Rauf Aregbesola, former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, Alhaji Kashim Iman and former ADC National Chairman Ralph Nwosu.

Others are former State Governors, such as Peter Obi, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, Rotimi Amaechi, Liyel Imoke and John Odigie-Oyegun.
