APC South-East Women Leader Hails Erondu’s Widow Empowerment Initiative, Predicts Tinubu’s Victory in 2027

The South-East Zonal Women Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Mrs. Obiageli Ajih, has commended the Abia State APC Women Leader, Hon. Chinyere Cecilia Erondu, for organizing a widow empowerment programme aimed at supporting vulnerable party members across the state.

Speaking at the event held at the APC State Secretariat in Umuahia, Dr. Ajih described the initiative as a demonstration of compassion and commitment to the welfare of women, particularly widows, within the party.

She noted that the South-East zone remains committed to mobilizing support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and strengthening the party’s grassroots structure ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to her, the achievements of the Tinubu administration in the South-East and across Nigeria have inspired APC members to work towards securing the President’s re-election.

She expressed optimism that the APC would record significant electoral gains in the South-East in 2027, stressing that women would continue to play a central role in the party’s growth and success.

Dr. Ajih assured APC women in Abia State that the Federal Government remained committed to policies that would improve their welfare and economic wellbeing.

 

She urged women to remain steadfast and united in support of the party, adding that greater opportunities for women’s inclusion in governance would emerge under the APC-led administration.

Also speaking, the APC candidate for Aba North and Aba South Federal Constituency, Rt.Hon. Uzo Azubike, lauded Hon. Erondu for sacrificing her personal resources to support widows barely one month after assuming office as state women leader.

He said the gesture reflected the party’s commitment to caring for the vulnerable and promoting social inclusion.

Azubike emphasized that APC leaders and stakeholders had rallied behind the initiative to reassure widows and other disadvantaged groups that the party would continue to support both the weak and the strong in society.

On the issue of insecurity, he maintained that the Tinubu administration was confronting security challenges head-on and would continue its efforts until lasting peace is achieved across the country.

In her remarks, Hon. Chinyere Erondu said her decision to empower widows stemmed from her personal experience as a widow and her desire to put smiles on the faces of less privileged women within the party.

She disclosed that beneficiaries were drawn from the 17 local government areas of Abia State and assured members that the empowerment programme would not be a one-off event.

The state women leader further thanked APC leaders in the state for their support and called on women to remain hopeful, assuring them that more programmes aimed at improving their welfare would be implemented in the future.
