AYPF President Urges Issue-Based Campaigns Ahead of 2027 Elections.

The Founder and President of the Abia State Youth Parliamentarian Forum (AYPF), Hon. Chris Egbu, a former elected Councillor (2016–2018) and the immediate past representative of Abia North Senatorial District in the Nigerian Youth Parliament, National Assembly, Abuja, has called on political candidates and their supporters to embrace issue-based campaigns rather than relying on sentiments.

Speaking during an interview with the press, Hon. Egbu emphasized that voters will ultimately elect leaders based on their track records, competence, and performance not merely on political party affiliations.

He urged the electorate to support credible and youthful candidates who have demonstrated capacity and integrity, irrespective of their political parties.

He further stressed that legislative office has no fixed tenure limit, noting that as long as constituents continue to re-elect a legislator, it is a clear indication of satisfaction with the individual’s performance and representation.

Hon. Egbu also announced that the Abia State Youth Parliamentarian Forum will hold a media conference in September. During the event, the Forum will unveil its assessment report on the performance of members of the Abia State House of Assembly as well as legislators representing Abia State in the National Assembly.

He concluded by encouraging political stakeholders to focus on policies, developmental ideas, and constructive engagement that will strengthen democracy and promote good governance in Abia State.
