Instead of celebrating with gifts, Mrs. Olatunji Queen marked her birthday by empowering five entrepreneurs with business equipment, startup support and entrepreneurship training through the Impact Life and Empowerment Foundation.

What would ordinarily have been a private birthday celebration became a remarkable humanitarian outreach as the Founder of the Impact Life and Empowerment Foundation, Mrs. Olatunji Queen, marked her birthday by empowering five entrepreneurs with business tools and startup support aimed at improving their livelihoods.

The event, covered by Media Today Nigeria, brought together beneficiaries, guests, community leaders and supporters who witnessed a unique celebration focused on giving hope, restoring dignity and promoting economic independence through entrepreneurship.

Rather than receive birthday gifts, Mrs. Olatunji chose to invest in the lives of struggling entrepreneurs by providing business equipment tailored to their individual needs.

Speaking with Media Today Correspondent, she explained that the foundation was established to identify people who cannot stand on their own financially and provide them with the support needed to become self-reliant.

“Our objective is to help people become established, financially independent and eventually become a blessing to others,” she said.

Mrs. Olatunji disclosed that the vision for the foundation was inspired by God in 2007.

“God instructed me to become a blessing to others, and that vision has continued to guide everything we do through this foundation,” she said.

She added that celebrating her birthday by empowering others gives her greater fulfillment than organizing lavish celebrations.

Five Beneficiaries Receive Business Support

Five entrepreneurs benefited from the empowerment programme after their businesses were assessed by the foundation.

The beneficiaries received:

• An industrial sewing machine to expand a fashion design business.
• Gas refilling equipment and accessories to revive a gas retail business.
• An industrial grinding machine for food processing and packaging.
• A fully stocked boutique for a beneficiary to start and grow a clothing business.
• A provision and foodstuff shop stocked with goods for a beneficiary who had rented a shop but lacked the capital to fill it.

The foundation said the intervention was designed to help beneficiaries begin earning income immediately while reducing the financial burden associated with starting or expanding a business.

Entrepreneurship Training

In addition to distributing business equipment, the foundation organized an entrepreneurship training session where beneficiaries learned practical strategies for business sustainability.

Mrs. Olatunji encouraged participants to:

• Reinvest part of their profits back into their businesses.
• Separate business finances from personal expenses.
• Plan before making financial decisions.
• Remain diligent and hardworking.
• Stay consistent despite challenges.
• Develop creative and original business ideas.
• Think strategically.
• Adapt to changing business environments.

She emphasized that empowerment without proper business management could limit long-term success.

Foundation Secretary Speaks

The Foundation’s Secretary, Mrs. Nnena Grant, who also celebrated her birthday on the same day as the founder, described the outreach as a meaningful way to celebrate.

According to her, both women intentionally chose to dedicate their birthdays to impacting lives rather than holding personal celebrations.

She said the foundation remains committed to restoring hope, strengthening businesses and creating opportunities for vulnerable entrepreneurs.

Mrs. Grant also expressed optimism that those empowered would eventually become benefactors to others.

“We believe those we have empowered today will one day empower others. Every edition of this programme will be greater than the last.”

Beneficiaries Express Gratitude

One of the beneficiaries, Pastor Chinedu Godswill, described the empowerment as an unexpected miracle, saying the intervention came when he least expected it.

He prayed for God’s continued blessings upon the foundation and expressed his desire to one day join the initiative in helping others.

Another beneficiary, Mrs. Grace , who received a fully stocked boutique, thanked the foundation for restoring hope to her family.

She said the support had transformed her life and prayed for God’s continued blessings upon the foundation and its leadership.

Pastor Greatman David Commends Initiative

Guest speaker and State Pastor, Winners Chapel, Abia State, Pastor Greatman David, praised the initiative, describing it as a practical demonstration of God’s purpose for blessing people.

He encouraged individuals to become channels of blessing within their communities, emphasizing that genuine prosperity is measured by one’s willingness to uplift others.

The Impact Life and Empowerment Foundation says its mission extends beyond charity to building financially independent entrepreneurs capable of creating employment opportunities and transforming communities.
