CP Danladi Reviews Abia Security Architecture, Warns Against Unprofessional Conduct

The Commissioner of Police in Abia State, CP Danladi Isa, has convened a strategic security meeting with senior officers of the Command to review the state’s security architecture and strengthen measures aimed at preventing crime and ensuring public safety.

The meeting, held on Friday at the State Command Headquarters, brought together Area Commanders, Squadron Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), and the Commander of the Visitor Crime Response Unit (VCRU).

Speaking during the meeting, CP Danladi said the gathering was aimed at assessing existing security mechanisms and developing additional proactive strategies for crime prevention and detection across the state.

The Police Commissioner reiterated the directive of the Inspector-General of Police on the enforcement against unregistered vehicles and vehicles with covered number plates, stressing that officers must maintain the highest level of professionalism while carrying out the exercise.

He warned that violators should be prosecuted in accordance with the law and cautioned officers against turning the enforcement process into an avenue for unprofessional conduct or extortion.

CP Danladi also charged supervising officers to closely monitor their subordinates to prevent misconduct and avoid vicarious liability, while ensuring strict adherence to professional standards in the discharge of their duties.

He further urged members of the public to report any form of police misconduct through the Complaint Response Unit of the Abia State Command via the dedicated telephone lines provided by the Command.

The Commissioner reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to protecting lives and property and maintaining peace and security across Abia State.
