…Distributes agro sprayers, chemicals, safety gear as farmers praise ‘people’s senator’
The dynamic and people-focused Senator formerly representing Abia Central Senatorial District, Senator Darlington Nwokocha—fondly known across communities as DARLOO—has once again demonstrated his unwavering commitment to grassroots development and agricultural advancement.
Barely a day after concluding his highly impactful three-day free medical outreach in Isiala Ngwa on July 10, 2025, Senator Nwokocha moved his empowerment train to Osisioma Ngwa Local Government Area, this time with a mission to enhance food security and support rural farmers ahead of the anticipated 2026 farming season.
In a well-attended event hosted at the Osisioma Ngwa Council Secretariat, over 200 farmers—comprising men, women, and youths across the 10 wards of the LGA—received complete agro fumigation kits. Each package included a 16-litre Knapsack P.A AGRO Sprayer, fumigation boots, gloves, nose masks, airprones, and essential chemicals, all aimed at boosting pest and weed control as well as enhancing fertilizer application.
The empowerment session wasn’t just about distribution—it was structured to educate and equip the farmers with practical knowledge. Participants were taken through both theoretical and practical training, culminating in a live fumigation demonstration on council farmland.
The council’s Mayor, Hon. Chidi Agu, was ably represented by his Chief of Staff, with the presence of the Leader of Council, Councillors, Supervisory Councillors, and local political groups such as Abia Arise, Ultimate Forum, Osisioma Ngwa Youth Organisation, and Me And You For Change Organisation, among others.
The event also featured goodwill messages from beneficiaries and supporters, light refreshments, and transportation stipends to ease participants’ journey back home—hallmarks of the DARLOO empowerment model that places people at the center.
One of the elated beneficiaries simply exclaimed, “This is the kind of leadership we prayed for. DARLOO is not just talking—he is showing us what true representation means!”
With this latest move, Senator Nwokocha has reaffirmed his status as a hands-on leader, committed to empowering his constituents in sustainable and practical ways. Farmers are now better equipped for increased productivity, and Osisioma Ngwa is poised for a bumper harvest season in 2026.
As chants of “Say DARLOOOO!!” echoed through the Secretariat grounds, it was clear that the Senator’s name continues to ring louder in every local government across Abia Central.
