Deputy Mayor of Umuahia South Endorses Governor Alex Otti for Re-election
The Deputy Mayor of Umuahia South Local Government Area, Hon. Barr. Enyinnaya Nwosu, has formally endorsed Governor Alex Chioma Otti for a second term in office.
Hon. Nwosu, who recently relocated from Canada to Nigeria, praised the governor for creating what he described as a transparent, inclusive, and enabling political and economic environment in Abia State.
According to him, the current administration has restored confidence in governance and provided a fair playing ground that has encouraged Abians in the diaspora to return home and invest.

He noted that many businesses are relocating back to Abia due to the improved business climate, adding that commercial activities are thriving, particularly in Aba. International traders, he said, now have renewed confidence to transact business in the state, with the shoe and textile markets experiencing significant growth.
Hon. Nwosu also commended the massive road infrastructure development across major towns including Aba, Umuahia, Arochukwu, Ohafia, Bende, and Ikwuano, which has enhanced the free movement of goods and people. He further highlighted the introduction of electric public transport buses, describing it as a major boost to inter-city mobility within the state.
In the health sector, the deputy mayor applauded the rehabilitation, retrofitting, and construction of over 150 primary healthcare centres across Abia. He noted that these centres are well equipped, offer free malaria testing and treatment, and provide free antenatal care and delivery services for pregnant women.
He also spoke on the transformation in the education sector, observing that students are returning from private schools to public schools due to extensive renovations, merit-based recruitment of qualified teachers, and the implementation of free education.
On youth development, Hon. Nwosu praised the Abia Tech Rise initiative, which is training young people free of charge in information technology, computer programming, and artificial intelligence.
He stated that after closely following the projects and policies of Governor Alex Otti, he was convinced that the governor deserves a second term.
Hon. Nwosu pledged to work with well-meaning Abians across the state to ensure the governor’s victory in the 2027 general election.
