In his desire to run an all inclusive government’ in the state , the governor of Abia State Dr. Alex Otti have announced the donation of a brand new bus to the association of disable in the state .
The governor made this promise during the January 2026 edition of the governor’s media chat with Newsmen which took place recently at the Banquet hall of the government house in Umuahia . He stated that his administration will continue to be pro active on issues bordering on the welfare of the physically Challenged persons in the state . He used the occassion to announce that on 25th of February 2026 works would be flagged off on Enyimba five star hotel Aba . According to the State’s Chief Executive Officer , the construction of Ovom road Aba shall be flagged off Same day .
Recounting his feat in certain sectors of the economy , governor Otti said his government’ is Intentional about health of the people to make health affordable to all in the state . He noted that work have commenced on the new general hospital at Ndoki in Ukwa East LGA . The hospital he said would be completed in record time .On Education ,the governor said his government’ have continued to make in roads in that sector . He said work is seriously going on on the male and female hostels being constructed in Abia State University Uturu. ABSU The job there he observed have gotten to an advanced stage and shall be completed very soon .
He disclosed that students enrollment in to public schools have greatly improved,as of last year the figure stood at 117,000 enrollments , as of January 2026 ,the figure stood at over 300,000 . This he said is as a result of new innovations introduced in the Educational sector such as recruitment of teachers and infrastructural development among others .
Governor Otti said his administration would continue to fire from all cylinders as he disclosed that there are about 30 road projects going on in the state and they are almost at finishing stages . He declared that the much cherished Omenuko bridge built by his government’ , would be Commissioned on the 23th of February 2026 , while Uratta road Aba is to be reconstructed.
In the area of Housing , the governor said a pocket layout housing Estate is to kick off soon in Umuahia while saying that Enyimba foot ball club got a new coach for optimal performance. He said the state will soon launch the conversion of Bio -gas into raw energy to stop wasting of the bio gas through burning . Dr Otti vowed his administration would continue to reposition the state till he leaves office in 3031 .
