Man commits suicide after Shooting One, and Attacking Two Others
It was a tragic end for one Chinedu Anamelechi from Umunga Amakama in Umuahia South LGA of Abia State who shot dead his girlfriend, Ezinne Ariwodo, stabbed the Girlfriend’s sister and also shot one other person before finally taking his own life.
The Abia State Police Command while confirming the tragic incident that occured in Umuanga Amakama Community, Umuahia South Local Government Area, said Chinedu took his life inside the bush and his corpse has been deposited in the morgue.
The command observed that on Monday its operatives swiftly responded to a distress report and arrived at the scene to find the lifeless body of the victim (the girlfriend) lying in a pool of blood with gunshot wounds.
According to the command, the injured victims were promptly rescued and taken to a hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment.
However, Medical personnel confirmed the victim (Ezinne Ariwido) dead and the body has been deposited in a morgue for preservation and autopsy, adding that relevant exhibits were also recovered from the scene.
According to the Police, normalcy has been restored in the community, while residents have been urged to remain calm and refrain from taking the law into their own hands.
But reports from the community say that youths of the area burnt Chinedu’s house in anger
