The Chairman of Nigerian Union Of Public Service Reportorial Secretarial Data Processors And Allied Workers Abia state Council NUPSRAW Comrade Urumdilachi Finess Ndubueze have pleaded with the governor of Abia State to kindly come to their aid in certain areas of their challenges.
The Chairman , Comrade Ndubueze made this call during the Council’s recent hosting of their South East and South south Zonal Conference which took place at Bishop Nwedo Pastoral Centre Umuahia .

While thanking God for safe arrival of the Guests to Umuahia , and welcoming them to the centre ,the Chairman of the Abía State Council, Comrade Ndubueze said the Union have through Unity and collaborative efforts overcome certain challenges and made good progress , however more Challenges are abound that also require the Council’s collective attention.
Some of the challenges she said include Removal of lingering issue of dichotomy in HND and Degree Holders . She said this contentious issue have been resolved by the Federal government so there is every need for the Abia state government to revisit the issue in the state for justice and equity .
Another Challenge is the issue of recruitment of core secretarial Staff .
Training and retraining of secretarial workers .
Payment of Hazard and responsibility allowances , prompt release of checkoff dues and provision of vehicles or buses for Council’s mobility among other requests
Comrade Ndubueze commended the state governor Dr Alex Otti saying he is a good and working governor and urged the governor through the head of service to come and help the union to overcome these challenges for effective performance of their duties.
Speaking at the conference , the Abia state Chairman of Nigeria Labour Congress NLC Comrade Ogbonnaya Okoro commended the Conference Delegates for their strength and unity of purpose achieving , much. With a short stay in office .The state Chairman intimated the conference on some of the noteworthy achievements of the governor for Civil Servants in the state .
He used the occassion to thank the governor Dr Alex Otti for his magnanimity to workers noting that there are more challenges for the governor to tackle for workers for their welfare and optimal performance in their duties .
Comrade Okoro told his guests that time has come for all workers to rise up and reclaim their party , the Labour party . He educated that Labour party belong to workers but labour leaders allowed politicians to use the party for their political contexts and they now want to destroy the party hence the need for us to reclaim our party ,he stated. He said NLC major Stakeholders are are part of the Leadership of the party saying it is a good development as it shows a Continuous presence of workers in Labour party to signify that the party still belong to Workers in Nigeria .
Speaking also , the zonal Chairman of the South East , South South Zonal Council Comrade Festus Nwoye, commended the Executives of the Abía State Council for organizing to host the conference. He was full of praises for the state governor Dr Alex Otti for his continuous efforts at developing the state saying that Abia is no longer what it used to be before now noting that the state have improved tremendously .
Comrade Nwoye reminded the forum that the demands of workers can never come to an end as long as technology continue to evolve and new responsibilities continue to emerge , the needs of workers will
still continue to expand .
Government’ he Said should be able to support workers to enable them display professionalism in their duties . He stated that the forum affords them the opportunity to share ideas, address common Challenges , strengthen the Union’s structures and collectively chart a progressive Path forward . For the betterment of workers .
