In a politically charged atmosphere at the Isuikwuato Local Government Multipurpose Hall, Mbalano, abia Arise on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, inaugurated a new seven-member executive to drive its operations at the grassroots level. The move is part of a larger statewide campaign aimed at galvanizing support for Governor Alex Otti’s ongoing transformation of abia State — and possibly his 2027 re-election ambition.
Speaking during the event, the State Chairman of abia Arise, Hon. Nkem Okoro, delivered an unapologetically bold message to the new executives. He appreciated the outgoing team for their hard work in the 2023 elections and declared that the newly inaugurated officers must now act as “evangelists” of the good governance being delivered under Governor Alex Otti’s leadership.
“This is not just an appointment, it is a call to action,” Okoro stated. “abia Arise is the catalyst for converting everyone to support the governor. Our target is total political evangelism. The signs are clear: good roads, functioning hospitals, and restored trust in governance. We are not waiting till 2027 to start campaigning.”
The event climaxed with the swearing-in of a new seven-man executive team led by LGA Coordinator Okoronkwo Emmanuel Obialor, who delivered a passionate and visionary inaugural speech.
Obialor declared that the inauguration signaled not just the formation of a political structure but the continuation of a people-driven movement. “We are here to ensure that the vision of empowerment, development, and transparency reaches every ward, village, and home in Isuikwuato,” he said.
“Under Governor Otti, Abians now walk taller, speak bolder, and hope deeper,” Obialor said, applauding the transformation already being experienced in education, healthcare, and infrastructure. He also charged his team to take the message of governance to churches, markets, and every corner of the local government.
In a stirring remark, the Member representing Isuikwuato State Constituency, Hon. Lucky Nweke Udoka Johnson, threw jabs at Governor Otti’s critics and political opponents.
“Governor Otti has made the work very easy for abia Arise. What exactly will his opponents campaign with? Are they going to campaign with failed roads, unpaid salaries, or abandoned schools?” Johnson asked pointedly, drawing loud applause from the audience. “We must build on this momentum and even surpass the records of the previous leadership.”
Adding to the voices of support, the Mayor of Isuikwuato LGA, Hon. Chinedu Ekeke, represented by his Chief of Staff, Elizabeth Onyeabo, assured the abia Arise team of the local government’s support. “You have the backing of the administration. Work hard, stay focused, and let the vision trickle down to every community,” she said.
The newly inaugurated executive includes committed grassroots mobilizers tasked with driving Governor Otti’s people-centered reforms deep into Isuikwuato. As abia Arise ramps up local structures across the state, the political climate is clearly heating up ahead of the 2027 general elections.
