TRADITIONAL RULER OF UMUAWA ALAOCHA BEGS GOV. OTTI FOR WATER

The Traditional Ruler of Umuawa Alocha HRM Eze Godswill Asumugha have called on the governor of the state Dr. Alex Chioma Otti to help his Umuawa Aalocha Ohuhu autonomous community in Umuahia North LGA of Abia State , in the procurement of clean arable water and erosion control in the community .

Eze Asumugha who spoke recently from his Umuawa Alaocha Palace said one major problem bedeviling the community is lack of good source of drinking water and erosion control saying that erosion do devastate their farm lands and these have continued to be a source of worry in his community . He therefore pleaded with governor Dr. Alex Otti to help the community to have good source of drinking water .

The traditional ruler hinted that Umuava Alocha community has one of the largest water reservoir in Umuahia , unfortunately the water reservoir is no longer functional. According to him if the government of the day can help functionalize the reservoir , lack of water would be a thing of the past in Ohuhu land .He therefore pleaded with the governor to intervane and help Umuawa Alaocha autonomous community to restore the water reservoir and help control erosion in the community.

Eze Asumugha described the state governor Dr . OTTI as one of the best performing governors in the country whose achievements in the state are quite unprecedented . He again commended governor Otti for building the first ever Secondry School in Umuawa Alocha Community.

advised Prof. Chukwuma Soludo governor of Anambra state to apply caution on the issue of Onitsha market traders and the sit-at- home syndrome . According to the Awa the 2nd of Umuawa Alocha ,A private businessman has the right to choose the day he would go for business and the governor , Soludo has no right to interfere on the fundamental human rights of another . So Soludo should tow the line of dialogue as Abía State governor Dr. Alex Ott who uses dialogue to solve such issues .The Eze said such matters call for wisdom to avoid fracas . Using the Army or police is not solution to the problem he stayed .

He commended governor Otti for the security and peace that held sway in the state especially during the Yultide season
Saying

I am commending governor Alex Otti for the mature ways he has been handling the issue of security, look at the last yuletide celebration it was peaceful across the state that is exactly what we want across South east zone . He made it clear that governor Otiti’s Infrastructural and other developmental strides in all the sectors of the economy and his magnanimity towards traditional rulers in the state , Royal father’s of the state have endorsed him for a second tenure .
Saying ,
if it were possible they would have advised the governor to continue after 2031.

He also appealled to the government to help them bring to an end the menace of Fulani herdsmen who uproot
their cassava just to feed their cattles

The traditional ruler concluded by appealing to Igbos and other traditional rulers to give priority to Igbo language by speaking in both homes and school. He made it clear that the only official language allowed in his Palace is Igbo language .
