UCL: Lookman makes history in Atletico’s victory over Barcelona

Ademola Lookman made history after scoring in Atletico Madrid’s 2-1 defeat to Barcelona at the Metropolitano Stadium on Tuesday night.

Lookman became the fourth Nigerian to score in the quarter-final of the UEFA Champions League.

Obafemi Martins was the first Nigerian to achieve the feat when he netted for Inter Milan against Villarreal in 2006.

Tricky winger Samuel Chukwueze joined Martins on the list with his strike for Villarreal against Bayern Munich in 2022.

Victor Osimhen joined the exclusive list after scoring in Napoli’s clash with AC Milan one year later.

Lookman will be aiming to join Finidi George and Martins among the Nigerians, who have scored in the semi-finals.
