Veteran Journalist , Okebanama, Celebrates 60th Birthday, Thanks God For Granting Him Healing

Notable politicians, Royal Fathers, Serving and Veteran Journalists, Friends and well-wishers from across Nigeria, on Sunday joined a renowned veteran journalist, Chief Kingsley Okebanama at his country home, Umuihi Ihitte Uboma LGA, Imo State to celebrate his 60th birthday and survival from a threatening illness.

Preaching at St Cyprain’s Anglican Church Umuihi Ihitte Uboma to mark the Thanksgiving service, Arch Deacon Reginald Osuji, enjoined Christians to imbibe the spirit of prayer for one another.

Arch Deacon Osuji noted that intervening on behalf of others in their moments of need would help bring souls to Christ.

He further challenged Nigerians to prayerfully stand in the gap for the country in order to overcome various socio-economic and political challenges facing the people.

Speaking at reception , the wife of the celebrant, Lolo Maria Kingsley Okebanama recalled with nostalgia, how the husband nearly lost his life to a dreaded ailment that commenced three years and thanked God for restoring him to sound health.

Lolo Okebanama who described her husband as a reliable father and partner worthy of celebrating and thanked relatives, friends and well-wishers for honouring Chief Okebanama with their presence.

In a brief remark on behalf of Journalists at the event, a former Chairman of Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ, Abia state council, Comrade Hyacinth Okoli described chief Okebanama popularly known among his colleagues as ‘Abia Big Boy’ as a bridge builder and humility personified and congratulated him for attaining 60.

Moving a vote of thanks, the Celebrant, Chief Okebanama who had donated N1million for the church building project thanked his wife, Maria, siblings and friends for coming to celebrate him and pledged to continue to serve God and humanity.
