In a remarkable show of support for national security and the Nigeria Police Force, Abia State National Assembly Liaison Officer, Hon. Iheanyi Frank Chinasa, on Monday, April 7, 2025, represented Governor Alex C. Otti at the inaugural Police Day celebration held at the prestigious Eagle Square, Abuja.
This first-ever National Police Day was the grand finale of a week-long Police Week celebration aimed at honouring fallen officers and celebrating the courage, professionalism, and resilience of serving police personnel across the country.
The highly symbolic event drew a distinguished audience of top government officials, military leaders, and other stakeholders. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who was represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, delivered a message reaffirming the federal government’s commitment to strengthening the security architecture of Nigeria. Also in attendance were the Inspector-General of Police, top Service Chiefs, and security operatives from across the country.
Representing Governor Otti, Hon. Chinasa reiterated Abia State’s unwavering commitment to national unity, internal security, and the welfare of security operatives. He emphasized the Governor’s deep appreciation for the sacrifices of the Nigerian police and expressed optimism that such celebrations would further enhance morale among the ranks.
“Governor Otti remains firmly committed to promoting peace, stability, and the safety of every Nigerian citizen. Abia State supports every initiative that recognizes and uplifts our law enforcement agencies,” Hon. Chinasa stated during an interview at the event.
