APC National Leaders Cancels Controversial Zoning Arrangement by Abia APC

As expected by many political analysts and observers, the National Leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC)has reviewed the controversial zoning arrangement announced by the Abia State Working Committee of the party following concerns raised by stakeholders and leaders of the broom party in the State.

A statement by the State publicity secretary, Uche Aguoru says the National Leadership directed that all zoning arrangements earlier issued by the State Working Committee be jettisoned.

According to him, the Abia chapter of the party was therefore told to maintain the status quo.

The statement therefore enjoined all aspirants interested in contesting for any position from the House of Assembly, Reps, Senate and Governorship, to go ahead and they are free to approach the party and purchase their nomination forms before the stipulated deadline as outlined by the party.

Recall, the controversial and surprising decision excluded two frontline Aspirsnts: Rt Hon Ben Kalu and Mascot Uzor Kalu who are from Abia North from contesting the Governorship primaries.

Following concerns raised by stakeholders and leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State, the National Leadership of the party has reviewed the concerns raised.

Consequently, the party has directed that all zoning arrangements earlier issued by the State Working Committee be jettisoned. The party will, therefore, maintain the status quo.

By this directive, all aspirants interested in contesting for any position from the House of Assembly, Reps, Senate and Governorship, are hereby advised that they are free to approach the party and purchase their nomination forms before the stipulated deadline as outlined by the party.
